Frequently asked questions.

Are these prints carbon neutral?

The materials we use to produce your orders have been carefully selected to reduce our impact on the environment whilst still ensuring your orders get to you in perfect condition. We are end-to-end carbon neutral. This means where we can minimise our energy usage and use suppliers of renewable energy. Where unavoidable, we offset all of our carbon emissions.

We use green couriers such as DHL GoGreen and Green Courier where available, only using renewable energy suppliers including Ecotricity and Stadtwerke Düsseldorf and electric bikes for transport.

Are the Prints signed?

Each artwork is a limited edition 1 of 20 and comes delivered with a signed certificate of authenticity.

The print itself is also signed at the bottom left, and the edition is at the bottom right.

Can I return a print?

To keep pricing accessible for as many people, these prints are custom-made to order rather than despatched from stock. Meaning that returns are not available to buyer’s remorse. However, in the rare event of damaged goods in transit, or faulty prints, a free replacement will be provided, upon receipt of evidence of the issue and proof of purchase. Please contact me for assistance with your order.

Do you print bigger?

For unique commissioned prints please email tom@negativesbytom.com, I'm always happy to help with your requests.

What size are your prints?

All of my prints are surrounded by a blank margin, to give space for mounting and handling. The accurate dimensions of each print (paper) and the internal size (artwork) are listed for your reference.

All prints are sold at the same size, these are large enough to study significant details of a scene but small enough to be manageable in almost any space you chose. For a familiar sizing reference, these prints are very close in size to A3.

Paper 30x40cm — 11 ¹³/₁₆ x 15 ³/₄"

Image 26x36cm — 10 ¹⁵/₆₄ x 14 ¹¹/₆₄"

What camera do you use?

I shoot with my Leica M6 classic, Mamiya 7 and Nikon L35AF. However, all of my current prints for sale have been shot with the M6 and Kodak Portra 400 or Gold 200.
